The aim of this study is to analyse language of internet media focused on skateboarding. An essential element of the introduction is a brief history of skateboarding globaly and here in the Czech Republic. The basis for the analysis of contemporary audiovisual clips also touches on the development of the distribution of skateboard videos. In this study I also mention the role of YouTube as a distributing tool and phenomenom of instant fame, which is not strong only in skateboarding, but it is a phenomenon across the full spectrum of society. The principal basis of this study is the definition of two print and later Internet traditions in skateboard journalism - Thrasher and Transworld Skateboarding magazine. The study also concerns itself with maping out the Czech media environment, where skateboarding has its own place. Czech translation of dialects in feature films and TV series
Nováčková, Michala ; Jettmarová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Josek, Jiří (referee)
The thesis studies Czech dubbing of Misfits and Futurama TV series with special attention to the method of translation of regional varieties of English. The first part summarizes the latest theoretical approach to translation of marginal varieties in dubbing and literature. This overview is followed by an analysis of language varieties used in the original series and their dubbed versions in order to define their role and function. The second part of the thesis examines decision-making processes employed in the process of translation of the regional varieties and presents the results of a survey of spectators' opinion on the translation method employed. Based on the survey results we compared spectators' evaluation of the original series with their evaluation of the dubbed versions, as well as markings of characters using regional varieties with markings of those using standard language. Last but not least, markings of the dubbed versions in the regions where the variety in question is spoken were compared with markings of these versions in the rest of the Czech Republic. The aim of the comparisons was to get an overview of recipients' opinions on the method of translation applied.

The thesis is focused on journalistic portrait as a complete genre in the current documentary field. The theoretical part is focused on the technical elements which this type of documentary should cover. It includes preparations for the shooting, how to act at the shooting and what to be aware of. I also mentioned the importance of communication with the person so that the final portrait would be as natural as possible. At last I focused on the basic rules of editing which need to be followed. In the practical part is explained how I managed to apply the theoretical knowledge during shooting and editing of the journalistic portrait Guitars' chef. Apart from the specialized literature I also drew on my personal experience during the shooting, which I gained throughout my work in the audiovisual field.
